There Are Many Different Things We Can Do With Video. Here's A Sampling Of Some Of Those Things ...

Examples Of Video for a Businesses Website

We're going to take a look at 3 different videos with different characteristics. We'll point out some of the uniqueness's to each video.

Here's a video introducing a huge economic change taking place that a select few local businesses in each city will be able to capitalize on that will set their businesses financial future up for many years to come!

This video is hosted at our website. We used a special video player to play it. The player allows us to change its appearance by changing the "skin".  The skin we selected is a sleeker player than the default one. This is a 320x240 video which is the standard size for a video on a website. Notice this size compared to the following. Here are some other things to notice about this video ...

  • Also notice how the music starts out slow and then picks up at the right spot.

  • This particular video has images and a video combined together. At 0:22 we watched lead consultant Mr. Chesnut share an important revelation!

  • Notice the affects throughout the video.

This next video was a demo video for a flooring company.  It shows a way to make images come to life.

Just to show the different options, this video was uploaded to YouTube and we used the Embedded Code to place it on our website.  These YouTube videos are 480x360. When embedding a video from YouTube, you have a few choices ...

As you can see, you can change the player colors and the size of the video. Make sure to read our informational page on using YouTube Videos on your business website.

With our player we can do videos in the standard 4:3 ratio like 640x480 down to 160x120, or in the 16:9 ratio which is the longer videos. We can do any size video you need, or custom size it to your website.

Here's another YouTube example ...

With this video notice how we added special elements to enhance the video.  We added ...

  • Bubbles (0:07),

  • A water sound (0:07),

  • Notice the sun coming through the clouds (0:12),

  • See the storm clouds (0:24),

  • The lightening (0:24) and

  • Hear the wind from the storm (0:24), to name a few of them.

Most importantly, notice how all of these elements make the video come alive and become more real, which then makes the message more real.

With this last video, even though it's a YouTube video we used our custom video player. We still pulled the video from YouTube, but with the video player we used it doesn't show the YouTube logo right up front (this is a good thing).  However, after you hit play and the video starts playing the YouTube logo re-appears in the lower right corner. The only way to avoid this is by hosting your video on your own site.

We talk more about YouTube videos on an offline businesses website at a special page. At this page we discuss when a YouTube video is okay to use and when it's not. Make sure you read what we recommend if you're currently using or considering to use a video from YouTube (click here).

In this last video you probably noticed the unique player and player controls. Because we used our own video player we can change the appearance of the player (called the "skin"). We offer about 20 different "skins" to choose from.

You've now seen 3 video's here.  Each video demo's something a little bit different to give you some idea's on how to use video for your company and products.  Your account manager will be able to show you even more ways to use video on your website.

The All Important First Frame Image

The First Frame Image is what you see when you go to a website that has a video. This is the image that's shown. Just look at the videos above for an example of the the First Frame Image.

The purpose of this image is to give people a reason to watch your video. That could be a compelling advantage they gain by watching, an image that shows what the video is about or it could be a captivating message or image. This is why you want to have control over this very important image.

We present this to you because YouTube videos embedded with the embed code from YouTube doesn't give you the ability to choose your own custom First Frame image and because we've ran across many websites with videos from Yellowbook that have no image at all ... it's a blank black image!

How we go about this gives you total control over the First Frame Image. It can be anything we want it to be.

A Playlist and Other Ways To View a Video

Maybe you've got a few videos for prospects or even customers to watch. Maybe you've got a series to watched like a "How-To" series, or maybe you've got a number of testimonials (audio and video). Take a look at the kind of things we can do to create a better, more professional experience for you website viewers.

Take, for example, putting a bunch of video or audio testimonials on your website (you don't want YouTube for this task).  You want to upload the video's and/or audio files to your own website and be in control of everything yourself. (We can take this for you, or we can show you how to do this.)

Here's a few ways to let people watch your videos ...

  • Above you already saw 3 single videos on the same page. Each of the individual videos was done a little bit differently to demonstrate some of the options you have.

  • Embed a player (or multiple players) onto a page within a table to control it's placement on the page and additional information around the player. An example of an embedded player on a page is below under "Multiple Videos or Playlist On The Same Page. We even show a player with a playlist and an audio player on the same page here.

  • Have your media player and playlist in a pop-up window sized exactly to the player.

This is what we do for software training courses so the client can move the window to a convenient place on the monitor where they can watch the video and use the software program at the same time.

Now, I'd personally just put a single video here and not a playlist.  I just wanted to introduce the greybox idea to you.

Regarding the greybox technology, there are a lot of ways I'd use this, and not just for playlist but for popping up a lot of things like pictures associated to your business.  Here's how you can have the greybox popup on your website ... Click here to get the program that creates the greybox window.

Are you starting to get an idea of the kinds of things we can do with video on your website?

Multiple Videos or Playlist On the Same Page

More and more businesses are latching onto the power of video for their websites.  It's not uncommon to see video as part of the home page.  Audio messages is even more common!

The uses of audio and video on your website are limitless!!  On this page we're going to demo just a couple of ways to use it, but believe me when I say "we haven't even scratched the surface of the many uses".

Churches more and more today are recording their messages (both audio and video) and bringing it to the Internet via their website. What you would do is create a web page that shows your messages.  There's a lot of ways to design this page which is another topic for another day.  Following is a simple example ...

Give it a name:  i.e., The Revelation Series

Watch (Main-Video) | Listen (Same-Just showing hyperlink choice) | Download (To Download MP3) |

Style1 | Style2 | Style3 | Style4 | Style5 | Style6

Here I've showing you 7 different layouts/styles, and I've shown putting them in a popup Playlist window. By the way, putting it into a popup window takes special coding too.

Now remember, I'm just showing examples of how we can set things up for you. This isn't a real series.

Playlist are tricky, with few people knowing how to create them. If your business has a need for one like for a How-To series, to handle multiple videos (some will break a long video down to a number of smaller videos), for a series and for testimonials, to name a few examples, we can put it together for you.

Here's a playlist embedded on the page. Make sure you notice that there's both video and audio together in the playlist ...

I put the player in a table so I would have the space to the right to add additional information.  You could do the same thing to put additional information about the playlist choices or about the series or to put some hyperlinks to take the viewer to another page.  The uses are unlimited.

Normally I wouldn't put a border around the table but did so here so you could see the table.

What I really want you to notice here is that in the playlist there's a video, a MP3 audio file and a YouTube video.  It's a "multi" media player, literally!

This should also give you an idea of what you could do at your website.

As you can see, a playlist can be put on the page or it can be put into a popup window or greybox. The point is, you have options.

Here's another idea: A church, for example, might want to give people the ability to either watch the services or to just listen to the service, and even to download the service so they can listen to it on their iPod or MP3 player.

How this would work is we, or you, would take the video message and convert it so it's also in a MP3 file (there's software that can do this very easily). You now have the message in a video and audio format. The point is, the options (watch, listen and download) are based upon what you're making available. The information in the () is for your benefit.

By the way, the downloading feature requires special coding. We can handle it all for you!

Even with audio, there are a lot of things we can do.

A Course To Teach You How To Do Playlist Yourself

By the way, if you want to learn how to do all of this yourself, we're in the process of creating an instructional manual you can purchase. The manual includes video instructions because nothing is more effective than actually "seeing how it's done" backed up with the written instructions.

The training course we're putting together will show you how to add a player and a playlist to your website.  It covers the XML playlist file and embedding the scripts to a web page as the two foundational pieces to this course, both of which are tricky themselves.  It's a video course so you can watch step by step how to do this.  We also address the difference between embedding the player on a page versus in a popup window, and we should you how to do both.

What this course won't teach is how to create a multi-media file (audio or video), how to pull audio or video files to your computer or anything else associated to the creation or editing of the multi-media file. This topic is very intense all in itself and expected to know prior to even considering putting your audio and video files on your website.  While we can help you with this, it will be on a hourly basis one-on-one since there are so many different ways to handle the creation of a multi-media file, pulling it onto your computer and then editing it.

When the media player is in a popup window, you can spruced it up with graphics and lots of other things.  We'll show you the key to doing this right.  There are setup options for the player too like colors, or having the playlist to the left or right, adjusting the viewing window to be bigger or smaller (auto adjusts the video to this size maintaining its ratio), and much more. There's a lot that can be done to customize the player, to help you create a great image, and to provide members and the community with your message.
