The Different Types Of Online Videos & Website Video Ads You Can Put On Your Website

There are a number of different types of videos that can be created. Each has a specific purpose. Let's take a look at them.

Photo's To Life Video with compelling text:

This video is a photo slideshow with compelling text and background music. We have a technique of bringing the photos to life creating a very attractive and effective video. This is the most popular video.

• The compelling text we add throughout the video strategically placed on different images is carefully put together. Our lead consultant, Mr. Chesnut, has over 20 years of copywriting experience.

• We hand pick the fonts we use based upon the message and your type of business.

• The background music is also hand picked based upon the message and your type of business.

• The photo to life technology literally makes the photo look alive and brings your video to life.

• We add other elements as needed to enhance the effectiveness of your video. We discuss these other elements below under, "Other Key Points About Creating A Video".

• Although a lot of time, planning and work goes into this video, this is the least expensive and quickest video to put together, thus, why it's the lowest cost video we offer.

For most clients we use their photos so they're not incurring the cost of having us send out a photographer to take pictures, which only makes sense since just about anyone can take great pictures! Here's some pointers ...

• Photos need to be at least 1024x768 in size so they're clear and not distorted. Larger is even better.

• You can always size down a photo which will actually make it even more clear, but you cannot increase the size of the photo because then it looks blurry and grainy.

• Large pictures can be cropped down so we're using the best part of the picture in the Photo's To Life video.

• A standard everyday digital camera can take quality pictures that can be used in the video. Expensive cameras are not required these days with the quality of digital cameras on the market today. Just set the resolution to 2 megapixels or higher (the higher the better) and you'll be in great shape. 

• Lighting is the other thing that you have to watch. Outdoor daytime pictures always seem to turn out fine. It's indoor pictures that tend to cause people the most problems. To solve this problem use "Daylight" Florescent bulbs (pack of 4 cost $6 at Home Depot) and position them above, to the right and to the left of the person/item being photographed for the best pictures.

• For the final point, to take the clearest pictures use a tripod! No matter how steady your hand is, you can't beat having a tripod to insure taking a perfect photo. Having said this, we've received many photos from people who have taken them free-hand and did a great job in taking the pictures. Therefore, use your discretion. Just remember, clear is important in a business video!

Photo's To Life Video with a voice overlay:

In this video we use a voice overlay to talk about the business and/or products. We could also include background music to further enhance the message and we'll include text where it's appropriate. Some things to know ...

• We script out the words the person doing the voice overlay says. It's best if you give us a rough draft of what you feel needs to be said on the video so we know what they key points are for your business and products. We can also do an interview with you to establish the key points that need to be said in the video.

Photos and Live Video combined together:

The photo portion can have either a voice overlay or text. To see an example of this, on the example page see the first video at 0:22.

• Editing live video is a very time consuming process.

• Then, adding live video into the video so it's all in sync together requires constant tweaking to get it just right!

Live Video:

This is straight video. There are a lot of ways live video can be created and used. Here are a few examples ...

• A message from the owner is always good! Tell people why they should do business with you, tell them how you stand behind your product, or introduce them to your company. There are many different messages you could share on the video.

• Demo your product, or show people how your product works or show the results they get from using your product.

• This could also be an interview which answers a question like "why they should do business with you".

• This could also be an infomercial which is one of the most effective videos created.

Infomercial:

When it comes to selling products, this is the cream of the crop! This could be a 30 second video or a hour long video. It could include live video, PowerPoint type text to further emphasize key points and other video elements all for the purpose of selling a product or service.

How We Get The Live Video

There's two ways we get the video ...

1. We send a videographer out to your business to shoot the footage, or

2. You provide us with the video footage.

When we send a videographer out to your business, they take care of everything. They'll shoot the footage and they'll get the video footage to us. To create a 60-120 second video the videographer will shoot at least 5-10 minutes of video footage.

Five to ten minutes of video is a lot of video to go through, but we go through it with a fine tooth comb to find just the right shots for the message you're wanting to create.

We charge $295 to send a videographer out to your business to shoot the footage for a 60-120 second video. This covers all of their costs and fees. 

The other option is to shoot the video footage yourself, or to have a friend shoot it which will save you the $295 videographer fee. We have ran across a lot of home video enthusiast who would prefer to shoot the video. If that's you, or if you have a friend who could do it, go for it. It's not hard to shoot video footage.

The cost for a good digital camcorder has dropped dramatically over the years. You can pick up a digital camcorder for under $300. HD camcorders (16:9 ratio) will cost more, but are still reasonably priced.

I was just looking at BestBuy the other day at camcorders. If I was going to buy an inexpensive camcorder today I'd purchase the Sony DCR-DVD650 for $299. I've always used Sony camcorders partially because I love their Carl Zeiss lens and the Easy Handycam button. Here are the features I really like about this camcorder ...

The point is, digital camcorders are inexpensive and take excellent footage that will work very well to create a video. In fact, with the amazing features like the Easy Handycam button (I use this all the time), it's really hard to take a bad video.

If that's not enough, with all of the things we can do with video with the video editing software available today, we can take mediocre footage and turn it into a great video. We can even crop a video like you do a photo.

Now, that doesn't mean you should be careless in shooting the video because good clear video takes a lot less time to edit and work with and will expedite the development of your video. As mentioned above, editing a live video is a tremendous amount of work.

After you've shoot the video footage, you can just mail us the DVD, the chip, a Hi-8 Tape or a Mini DV tape. If your camcorder has a built in harddrive then you'd need to download the footage to your computer and either upload it to us or put it on a DVD and mail it to us with mailing it the best choice.

If you do choose to take on the shooting of the video or taking of the pictures, don't worry about anything because we'll work with you every step of the way to guide you along including giving you suggestions to capture the perfect video footage or take the perfect pictures.

And, if you don't want to deal with any of this, we'll just send a videographer out to your business to handle the video shooting.

Other Key Points About Creating A Video

When creating a video for a business, it's important to know about the business, get some demographics of the businesses clients and know what marketing the business is currently doing so the video can complement it. It's the combination of all of this that allows us to create that very effective, result-oriented video for you.

To bring a video to life we also use special effects or special sounds.  On the example page see the third video (Gutters). We added a number of special elements to it. That's because special effects and special sounds make the video more real and increases their effectiveness.

For longer videos like when you're demonstrating something we may also use PowerPoint in part of it because it's a very powerful tool to use for creating a video.

Most Videos Will Only Be 60 Seconds In Length Because ...

Most videos will only run up to 60 seconds long. That's because businesses want to use the video in as many places as they can including being linked up or embedded with their directory listing. Therefore, let's explore the cost savings of having a video created by us for your website and for your directory listing.

Because we just recently talked with a Yellowbook.com rep, let's compare with them. If they do a 30 second video for you it's going to cost between $75/mo - $120/mo here in Spokane (price increases based upon the market). That's $900 to $1440 you'll pay every year. A 60 second video is going to run $150/mo+, or $1800+ per year.

According to Yellowbook.com they'll host a 3rd party video up to 60 seconds in length for just $55/mo in Spokane. Remember, prices go up based upon the market (city) you're in.
